about

It's hard, when describing a young band's work, not to consider their age. That Winslow created this album in their high school years is nothing short of an achievement. Which is ironic, because if their lyrics are to be believed, achieving anything is the last thing on their minds. From the sounds of it, Winslow aren't busy men, but the time they have to waste is very precious. There is a lazy intelligence hard at work in Winslow's songwriting. It's the kind of natively gifted talent that marks the best the alternative genre has to offer: Winslow have total enthusiasm for dumb basement jams, and total apathy for everything else. The result is a debut record completely devoid of pretense; a record of the purest musical intentions; a record to remind us why we fell in love with fuzzy guitars in the first place. I get it. Let's go kill some time. (Written by Eric Taylor)
